Central defender Fikayo Tomori is relishing Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship clash against eighth-placed Bristol City.

One point separates the two sides heading into the game at Ashton Gate as the Rams head into it occupying the final play-off position.

The 21-year-old on-loan Chelsea defender, who won the Jack Stamps Player of the Season award on Tuesday, is excited to come up against the Robins.

“This is what you play football for, these high-pressure games where there is a lot riding on it,” he told dcfc.co.uk.

“There is a lot of pressure and it’s decided on little moments and these are the moments where a wonder goal could be scored so it’s what you want to play football for and I’m looking forward to it.

“With three games left, it is in our hands. We have two away games coming up, including one against Bristol City on Saturday who are just below us, so it’s a really crucial game and the most important of the season so far.

“We have to be focused on that and build on the result from Monday. If we get a positive result, it will cap off a good week.”

The Rams will be backed by 2,700 supporters on Saturday after they sold out their allocation.

“I’m sure they will be in full voice like they usually are,” admitted Tomori.

“Bristol will be wanting to leapfrog us with a victory so it will be a good atmosphere and I’m sure we will put on a display worthy to win the game.”
