Derby County’s Duane Holmes has been forced to withdraw from the United States of America squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup due to injury.

The 24-year-old, who made his debut for the US earlier this month in their 1-0 friendly defeat against Venezuela, will return to the Rams for treatment.

Holmes, who was forced to miss the Play-Off Final against Aston Villa after sustaining an injury in the Play-Off Semi-Final Second Leg victory at Leeds United, made 33 appearances for the Rams during the 2018/19 season.

The midfielder also scored two goals for Derby during the campaign, in home victories against Reading and Rotherham United.
