Jacob Butterfield has left Derby County to sign for Sky Bet Championship newcomers Luton Town on a permanent basis.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who joined the Rams from Huddersfield Town in August 2015, moves to Kenilworth Road after a recent trial period with the Hatters.

Butterfield, who spent time on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford City during the last two seasons, made 89 appearances for Derby in total and scored nine times.

Derby County would like to wish Jacob every success in his future career.
