Derby County Under-23s have signed forward Jahmal Hector-Ingram following an impressive trial at the club.

The 20-year-old forward spent pre-season on trial with the Rams after 14 years at West Ham United, scoring five goals in six games.

Academy director Darren Wassall said: “I am delighted to say we have offered Jahmal a contract to prove himself here.

“When a trialist comes in, especially a centre-forward, all you can ask is that they score goals. He has done that and shown he is a great finisher.

“He has work to do on his all-round game, as everyone does in the Under-23s and Under-18s. We like what we have seen so far as a player and as a person. He has a great character.”
