Derby County midfielder Tom Huddlestone is set to a spell out of action with a hamstring injury.

The 32-year-old sustained the injury whilst scoring for Derby in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw at Barnsley.

Huddlestone underwent a scan following the game at Oakwell and while the Rams are still waiting for the full diagnosis on the injury, manager Phillip Cocu expects him to be out of action for a while.

Cocu told RamsTV after Saturday’s 2-0 win at home to Luton Town: “I think we can say he will be out for some time.

“I don’t like to say how many months because we still have to wait for some medical advice of the exact injury he has.

“It doesn’t look like he will be back in a few weeks.”

Huddlestone had started all ten league games this season before sustaining the injury at Oakwell in midweek.

Cocu also added after the game against Luton that he expects striker Jack Marriott to return to training during the international break.

Marriott has missed Derby’s last two matches with a minor muscle problem.
