Derby County will look to earn their first back-to-back wins of the season when they make the trip north to Oakwell to face Barnsley on Wednesday evening (7:45pm kick-off).

Phillip Cocu’s side are three games unbeaten and make the trip to South Yorkshire following a 3-2 victory over Birmingham City at the weekend.

Here, dcfc.co.uk has gathered all the information you will need ahead of the clash with Daniel Stendel’s side.

TEAM NEWS…

Jayden Bogle could look to make his first start since 10th August when he sustained an ankle injury against Swansea City. He returned to the matchday squad on Saturday afternoon against Birmingham City when he came off the bench to play a part in Jamie Paterson's second-half winner.

There were no new injuries for Phillip Cocu to contend with to add to Richard Keogh (knee), Ikechi Anya (calf) and George Evans (thigh).

Craig Forsyth added more minutes under his belt with the Under-23s on Sunday as he continues to work towards full fitness after a lengthy lay-off with a knee injury.

The same applies to Andre Wisdom, who like Forsyth has been out of action since last season with a knee injury.

WHAT THE BOSS HAD TO SAY…

Speaking at Pride Park Stadium after the victory to Birmingham, Phillip Cocu said: “The players know what is at stake, what they have to show and the only response the team can show is on the pitch and they did. We have to deliver again on Wednesday, it cannot be one game.”

Speaking ahead of the Barnsley game, Specialist First-Team Coach, Liam Rosenior, said: “We want to see more of the character that was on display at the weekend and, as you’d expect, the mood has been good on the training ground off the back of a win.

“I watched Barnsley’s game against Brentford on Sunday afternoon. They started it really well, with a high tempo and a lot of energy which resulted in an early goal.

“Going away from home, we will need to stand up to that. We will have to show the spirit and togetherness that we saw on Saturday at Oakwell.”
