Derby County midfielder Jason Knight has been called to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad.


The 18-year-old Academy graduate will link up with Stephen Kenny’s squad for their UEFA Under 21 European Championships qualifiers against Italy and Iceland.

They will face Italy in Dublin on Thursday 10th October, before heading to Reykjavik to face Iceland on Tuesday 15th October.

Ireland are top of Group A after winning all three of their qualification matches so far.

Knight, who made his professional debut for the Rams at the beginning of the campaign, has made nine appearances in all competitions.
