Derby County midfielder Graeme Shinnie has been called up to Steve Clarke’s Scotland squad for their upcoming European Qualifiers against Cyprus and Kazakhstan.

It’s fine reward for the 28-year-old who has impressed for the Rams since making his first league start for the club against Luton Town at the start of October.

In total, Shinnie has made eight appearances for Derby and netted the only goal of the game in injury time against Wigan Athletic to seal a valuable three points at Pride Park Stadium.

Scotland cannot qualify from their group, however, their only chance of qualification for the tournament is via the play-offs which they secured during the Nations League campaign.

Shinnie will be part of the squad which heads to Nicosia to face Cyprus on Saturday 16th November (2pm kick off), whilst three days later, they face Kazakhstan at Hampden Park on Tuesday 19th November (7:45pm kick off).

Shinnie will join up with his Scottish team-mates immediately.
