TEAM NEWS…

Striker Colin Kazim-Richards will miss out after picking up an ankle injury in the side's 3-1 loss at Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night. He is still undergoing assessment to determine how long he will be out of action for, but will certainly miss the meeting with the Sky Blues and the rest of the season.

Defender Lee Buchanan also picked up a knock in the game at Ewood Park and he is classed as a doubt for the meeting with Coventry.

MANAGER'S THOUGHTS…

Manager Wayne Rooney offered his pre-match views to RamsTV.

“You can get carried away when you lose a game or when you win, I’ve said that all season, and we have an opportunity now to put right the last two matches,” Rooney said..

“People also forget that in the last two games we’ve played the teams that are second and fourth in the table away from home.

“In large portions of those matches we dominated the play with a group of Academy players and a sprinkling of senior players. What they are achieving, and what they are doing, is incredible so we just have to find a way to win games.

“It’s easy to forget just how well they have done. For instance, in November, we were on minus three points, so if you would have told all of us that going into the March international break we would be six points off it, and potentially three points off it, then we would have all taken that in a heartbeat.

“The lads have been great; we’ve got an opportunity to end this run of games on a positive. We want to go into that international break on a high and ready to roll our sleeves up on the pitch for those final seven games of the season.”

FROM THE DRESSING ROOM…

Forward Tom Lawrence spoke to RamsTV at Moor Farm Training Ground ahead of the meeting with the Sky Blues.

“It hurt on Tuesday night,” he said. “The first half performance was really good, I think it’s one of the best halves we’ve played this season.

“To have a bad spell in the first 20 minutes or so of the second half, where we gave the game away, hurt a lot. We need to learn from that and we need to improve our game management from now on.

“It’s down to the senior players, myself especially, to read the situation and help the team. We need to make sure we do that from here on in.

“We know that every game we play is a big one and we need to start winning matches again. We’ve had a few setbacks throughout the season, so we need to bounce back on Saturday before the international break.

“If we get a win on Saturday, it will stand us in good stead for the rest of the season.”

MATCH OFFICIALS…

Darren Bond will oversee Saturday's game at Pride Park.

Bond has overseen 11 games so far this season in all competitions, showing 35 yellow cards and one red card.

His last Derby match was the 2-1 away defeat at Swansea City in the Rams' last away fixture of the 2020/21 season.

He will be assisted by Mark Russell and George Byrne on the lines, whilst Josh Smith has been appointed as the fourth official.

EFL SUBSTITUTE RULES…

The five substitutions rule has been scrapped for the 2021/22 season, the English Football League confirmed in July.

The rule allowing clubs to make five changes, as opposed to the usual three, was brought in following football's restart in June 2020 after a break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Given that games had to be condensed into a short period of time it was thought beneficial and allowed managers to make as many as five changes in three intervals during a match.

Clubs had a longer post-break between seasons this time around and so the temporary rule has been changed.

Teams will be able to name seven substitutes but only use a maximum of three.

STREAMING INFORMATION…

With COVID-19 capacity restrictions lifted and EFL fixtures being played in front of full crowds once again, the temporary change in streaming rules is no longer valid.
