Derby County are back on the road in Sky Bet League One action on Saturday when they travel to Gloucestershire to take on Cheltenham Town (3pm kick-off).

The Rams go into the contest 16 unbeaten in all competitions and sat fourth in the table after a promising run of form under Head Coach Paul Warne.

In the lead-up to the game getting underway, dcfc.co.uk has brought together all the key information you need to know…

Team News

Defender James Chester (calf) remains sidelined after suffering an injury upon his return to the fold earlier this month after around eight weeks out of action.

Striker David McGoldrick and full-back Korey Smith have both returned to training this week after missing the 3-0 FA Cup Third Round victory over Barnsley last weekend with knocks.

Warne's Words

Head Coach Paul Warne sat down with RamsTV to preview the Rams' first away game of 2023.

He said: "If you go through all of Cheltenham's results this year, they don't take heavy losses. It's not an easy place to go and I also know that they'll probably feel like the underdog so they'll come out fighting. Like any game, our levels are going to have to be so high for us to win."

From The Dressing Room

Goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith spoke to RamsTV ahead of the trip to Cheltenham.

He said: "We're aware that we are a scalp for people but if we've got the attitude to take it to them then we want to put that fear factor back on them. If they want to come to Derby County and win then it's not going to be easy."

Match Officials

Neil Hair is in charge of Saturday's fixture between the Robins and the Rams.

Kevin Howick and James Vallance will run the lines whilst Christopher Wade is on fourth official duties.

Hair has been the man in the middle 15 times so far this season and distributed 55 yellow cards, three red cards and awarded five penalties.
