Derby County midfielder Louie Sibley has been really enjoying his new-found role of left-back in recent weeks.

Sibley, traditionally an attack-minded midfielder, was moved into the back four to cover injuries back in November but after impressing Head Coach Paul Warne, has now found himself a constant in a solid back four.

Speaking to RamsTV ahead of Sunday's Emirates FA Cup Third Round clash against fellow Sky Bet League One side Barnsley at Pride Park Stadium, Sibley discussed the change in position and looked ahead to the cup clash.

On his positional change...

I'm really enjoying it. For me, I've always had that thought about wanting to go forwards and from left-back there's always space to drive in to.

I played there when I was a bit younger but not too much. Wherever the gaffer wants me to play, I'll always give it my all. I said to him today that I'm really enjoying it.

On the challenge of playing at left-back...

Aerially I'm not the greatest so that's something I've been working on and defending 'one-on-one' situations is a big change as you don't get that as much when playing higher up the pitch. It's been working so far, the back four has been doing really well and we've kept a lot of clean sheets so there are no complaints from me.

On playing alongside Eiran Cashin...

We get along really well and he heads a lot of balls for me so that's nice! We've been working well together and he knows I'm more attack-minded so he lets me push forwards at times and covers me. We've helped each other and we've been doing really well to date.

On the FA Cup meeting with Barnsley...

It means a lot to everyone. If we can beat Barnsley and can go on to a big tie, it would be great for the fans and the club. Going on runs can help you in the league too and if we keep playing the way we have then there's no reason why we can't go on a good one.
