Derby County return to Pride Park Stadium on Wednesday evening for the final game of their Bristol Street Motors Trophy group stages against Wolves Under-21s (7pm kick-off).

The Rams have picked up maximum points from their first two fixtures, winning 2-0 at home to fellow League One side Lincoln City in September and 2-1 at League Two promotion chasers Notts County in October, and know a point will confirm their passage into the knockout stages of the competition.

In the lead-up to the Northern Section - Group G tie getting underway, dcfc.co.uk has brought together all the key information you need to know...

Rams Team News

Forward Martyn Waghorn (hamstring) has missed the last three games and will have his fitness assessed closely ahead of kick-off.

Defender Callum Elder (hernia) has trained with the squad in recent days and could feature on Wednesday night.

On-loan Arsenal striker Tyreece John-Jules (quad) is back on the grass stepping up his workload after being out of action since mid-September but won't be involved in midweek.

Midfielder Liam Thompson (quad) is progressing well in his recovery after two months out of action but is still a few weeks away from a return to training.

Defender Jake Rooney (knee) recently underwent surgery on his damaged ACL and will be out of action for a lengthy period of time.

On loan Sunderland midfielder Elliot Embleton has returned to his parent club after injuring his quad in training during September and, after undergoing surgery, is to be out of action for several months.

Pre-Match Thoughts

First-Team Coach Matt Hamshaw spoke to RamsTV to preview Wednesday evening's game.

He said: "We want to go and win the game. It's nothing different to any game we've approached this season. We want to be on the front foot, take the game to them, play good football and take our chances.

"It's important that we keep winning. We've won two games so far in this competition and want to make it three."

Defender Kane Wilson also spoke to RamsTV to preview a Wednesday night under the lights at Pride Park.

He said: "There could be a number of players getting much-needed game time and it will be an opportunity to showcase what we've got and get into the next round."
