Following an action-packed first season that saw more than 100,000 fans join the game, Fantasy EFL is returning for a second year with new and improved features and more opportunities to win big across the Sky Bet EFL season.
The League’s first-ever 72-Club fantasy football game, in partnership with Genius Sports, made its inaugural appearance in July 2024, providing fans of EFL Clubs, fantasy football players, and the wider football community with the opportunity to play across more than 1,600 Sky Bet EFL fixtures, including the highly anticipated Sky Bet EFL Play-Offs.
In addition to the range of prizes on offer in year one, which will return this season, Fantasy EFLplayers will also have the chance to win one of 72 season tickets up for grabs. Fans can join their Club’s mini-league, and whoever comes out on top at the end of the season will walk away with a free season ticket for that Club.
Also new for the 2025/26 season, fans will have access to a One Club booster, allowing them to pick seven players from one team for one gameweek of their choice.

How To Play!
Fantasy EFL has just launched for its second season and now is the perfect time to get involved! It features all 72 clubs across the Championship, League One and League Two and Fantasy Football Scout has outlined a run-down of the essential info and top tips that you need to know ahead of the 25/26 season kickoff!
You can get stuck straight in by heading overhere or downloading the official Fantasy EFL app! (Click here for Android andclick here for iOS).
Selecting players
To create your team, you select seven players from across the Championship, League One and League Two. You can have any number of players from each division, but no more than two from one Club.
You should be exploring all three divisions to really maximise your points totals and there will be regular content from Fantasy Football Scout to aid you through this thrilling season. However, given the Championship starts the week later, GW1 will feature just League One and League Two sides.
Players are split into goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards, and can be played in any of these formations:
- A) 1-2-2-2
- B) 1-2-3-1
- C) 1-3-2-1
You must also allocate a captain, who will score double points that gameweek, and a vice captain who will take the place of the captain in case your captain does not play.
Selecting clubs
In Fantasy EFL, Managers need to pick two Clubs every gameweek that you believe will do well in their scheduled matches. You can choose any team across all three divisions and will receive points depending on their results.
You must choose wisely though, because you cannot select the same Club more than five times a season.
Points
Players score points for your team with appearances, goals, assists, clean sheets, saves and defensive/offensive actions. On the other hand, you will receive minutes points if your chosen players commit negative actions, such as red cards or own goals. Your selected Clubs will score points for wins (more for away wins!) and scoring multiple goals.
Read more about points scoring here.
Gameweeks and deadlines
You have the ability to make unlimited transfers on both players and Clubs throughout each gameweek, which regularly run weekly from Thursday to Wednesday. You can transfer them out up until the moment that their game kicks off, meaning there is always time to get replacements in case of injury or other circumstances. Once their matches kick off, they are locked in until the following gameweek.
Your selected players score points for you in any game they play during that week, with players sometimes having two or even three fixtures on certain weeks!
Fantasy EFL fits each division’s 46 rounds of matches into 40 gameweeks, with end of season Play-Off matches not being included in the regular season game.
Chips
We are treated to two hugely exciting chips this season in Fantasy EFL, which will be sure to shake things up!
The Max Captain chip is back. This season, you'll get two of these chips to use once again. The chip doubles the points of your highest-scoring player for that gameweek.
The all-new One Club chip will certainly turn heads, allowing you to select as many players as you like from one Club for one gameweek, bypassing the regular two-player limit.
Global league and mini-leagues
Everyone is entered into the overall league, a mini-league with other supporters of their favourite Club and a mini-league with those whose favourite Club is in the same division as yours.
You can also create your own public and private mini-leagues with friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who you wish to compete against!
Prizes
There are prizes for the top five finishers in the overall league and a monthly prize for the best performing player each month. There is also a prize for the winner of each Club league.
It's also worth mentioning that if you sign up by 31st July, you'll be in with a chance at winning one of seven available season tickets!
