SQUAD UPDATE: Vickers To Miss Six To Eight Weeks

Josh Vickers is set for a spell on the sidelines after sustaining a groin injury in the 1-0 defeat to Millwall on Tuesday evening.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper has started Derby County’s previous seven Sky Bet Championship matches but is due to miss the next six to eight weeks, Head Coach John Eustace has confirmed.

“It's not as bad as what we initially thought,” Eustace told RamsTV, “but I think it's going to be six to eight weeks. Obviously, Josh has stepped in, and he's done a great job up to now.”

With Jacob Widell Zetterstrm also ruled out through a virus, Richard O’Donnell – who started in the Rams’ wins at Charlton Athletic and Bristol City in January - is set to return to the side.

“Rich did terrifically for the couple of games that he came in, and it's up to him to put top performances in from now to the end of the season, which I know he will,” Eustace said.

“The goalkeeping department is very strong, and we're delighted that Rich is going to step up and take the reins.”
