Three Match Ban For Roberts

Defender to miss next three matches after getting his marching orders at Hull.

Defender Gareth Roberts will miss Derby County’s next three matches after being sent off in the Rams’ 2-1 defeat at Hull City on Tuesday night.

The veteran left-back saw red late on at the KC Stadium for what referee Robert Madley deemed to be a lunge on Hull striker Nick Proschwitz.

As a result, Roberts will miss Derby’s home games against Wolves (16th February), Bolton Wanderers (19th February) and the away trip to Watford (23rd February).

Manager Nigel Clough said: “We won’t be appealing the decision judging on what we’ve seen on the DVD. The ball was bouncing so Gareth had to stick his foot in, but their guy got their first and nicked the ball away.”

The 35-year-old has made 28 appearances for Derby this season and has recorded over 600 appearances during his playing career.
