Derby County midfielder Will Hughes has today completed a permanent transfer to Premier League side Watford.

The 22-year-old has joined the Hornets after an undisclosed fee and sell-on agreement was reached by the two clubs.

The England Under-21 international made 187 appearances for the Rams after making his debut as a 16-year-old back in 2011, scoring 12 goals in total.

He is currently on international duty with Aidy Boothroyd’s Young Lions in the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship Finals in Poland.

Following on from the 2015/16 season, at the start of which Will suffered an ACL injury, the Academy graduate made 42 appearances in all competitions last season and netted twice, in home victories against Nottingham Forest and Reading.

Derby County would like to wish Will every success with his future career and thank him for his contribution during his time with the Rams.
