The EFL has confirmed that the draw for the Third Round of the Carabao Cup will take place in Beijing, China on Thursday 24th August 2017.

Derby are still to play their Second Round tie at fellow Sky Bet Championship side Barnsley, as a result of their original First Round tie at Grimsby Town being abandoned earlier this month.

Gary Rowett’s side were 1-0 against the Mariners on Tuesday evening so, with the tie against Barnsley to be played at Oakwell on Tuesday 19th September, both sides will be in the Third Round draw.

Thirty-two clubs will be involved in Round Three, with the seven Premier League sides who qualified for UEFA European competitions entering the draw, including last season’s winners Manchester United.

The draw will take place from approximately 11:15am local time, 4:15am BST.

The Round Three draw is unseeded, with the first ball drawn as the home club, followed by an away club.

This is repeated until there are sixteen ties and the draw numbers will be available on Wednesday evening.
