Derby County's Tom Lawrence earned his 19th cap for Wales last night but was on the losing side as a late goal earned Hungary a 1-0 win in their latest Euro 2020 qualifying fixture.

The result leaves Wales second-from-bottom in Group E after picking up three points from their opening three games.

Lawrence, who netted seven goals for the Rams during the 2018/19 season, played 79 minutes for Ryan Giggs’ side before being replaced by Stoke City striker Sam Vokes.

Máté Pátkai scored the only goal of the game on 80 minutes to ensure Hungary picked up maximum points to keep them top of the group.

Elsewhere, Alex Babos was an unused substitute for Wales’ Under-21 side yesterday as they lost 3-1 away to Albania.
