Wayne Rooney returns to the Derby County side for this afternoon’s Sky Bet Championship clash against AFC Bournemouth (3pm kick-off).

The 35-year-old is one of three changes from the side which drew 1-1 with Cardiff City on Wednesday night at Pride Park Stadium.

The skipper has missed the last three games due to a period of self-isolation after encountering an individual that had tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month, but he returns to the starting line-up against the Cherries in place of Kamil Jozwiak who limped out of Wednesday’s draw against the Bluebirds.

Elsewhere, Dutch defender Mike te Wierik returns to the starting XI, making his first start since the home game against Blackburn Rovers last month. Defender Andre Wisdom reverts to the substitutes' bench.

There's also a return to the starting line-up for goalkeeper David Marshall after he sat out the Cardiff game with a minor injury, with Kelle Roos reverting to the bench.

There is also a place on the substitutes' bench for Polish international Krystian Bielik. The midfielder has missed the last 10 months due to suffering an ACL injury in an Under-23s fixture against Tottenham Hotspur.

Here are the teams:

Bournemouth: Begovic, S.Cook (C), Mepham, Solanke, Danjuma, Smith, L.Cook, Stacey, Stanislas, Rico, Billing.

Substitutes: Travers, Gosling, Brooks, Surridge, Riquelme, Simpson, King.

Derby County: Marshall, Shinnie, te Wierik, Waghorn, Lawrence, Byrne, Clarke, Buchanan, Rooney (C), Davies, Knight.
