Winger Kamil Jozwiak believes the confidence is high in the Derby County dressing room ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Stoke City at Pride Park Stadium (3pm kick off).

The Rams have gone four games unbeaten in the league since Wayne Rooney stepped up to lead the team from the coaching staff following the departure of Phillip Cocu in November.

Home draws against Wycombe Wanderers and Coventry City were followed by picking up four points out of six in the capital.

A 1-0 victory over Millwall, courtesy of Jason Knight’s first league goal of the season, secured Derby’s first win in the Championship since the start of October whilst on Wednesday night, the Rams earned a respectable point against Brentford, who reached the Play-Off Final last season.

Derby almost earned all three points on their first trip to the Brentford Community Stadium but Jozwiak’s close range effort rebounded against the post.

The Rams now face Stoke City, who sit just outside the play-off places, on home soil this weekend and Jozwiak believes the Rams are full of confidence ahead of Saturday’s game.

“We feel good as a team because we played much better than we started,” he told RamsTV. “We know now is a good opportunity to get three points, we know it’s a good team but we can beat them.

“For us, it was very nice moment to get the win against Millwall because we had been waiting for a win for a lot of time.

“We were so, so happy after the game because we know how much in need we are. It was a good moment for us.”

It was also a special occasion for Jozwiak during Saturday’s win against Millwall as it was the first time he has played alongside his friend Krystian Bielik form the start.

Only a few months separate the pair and after playing together at youth level in Poland, Jozwiak cherished the moment to play alongside his teammate at senior level.

“It was funny a little bit for us because we have waited for this moment,” he admitted. “When I played in the team, Krystian was on the bench then when Krystian played I was on the bench, so a little bit funny.

“But now we can play together and I know him and he knows me so we can play together, it is very good thing for us.

“We have played together a lot of times in Lech Poznan in youth teams and also in national teams - Under-17s and Under-16s. I know him so well and it is good for us.

“I think also my cooperation with the team is much better then when I started here because I know the players much better so also that is good. It doesn’t matter if I play with Krystian or the other guys, we have to keep this level, keep this performance and play like this. I think we will be good.”
