Derby County will discover their First Round opponents in the newly-rebranded Carabao Cup on Friday morning.

The draw will take place in Bangkok, Thailand - which is the home of the competition’s title sponsor, Carabao Energy Drink - at 1pm UK time.

Rams supporters can watch the draw live right here on dcfc.co.uk and discover who Gary Rowett’s men will face during the week commencing 7th August 2017.

Ahead of the draw, we've taken a look at Derby’s last five First Round ties in the competition – with the Rams progressing to Round Two on three occasions.

2016/17 - Derby County 1-0 Grimsby Town

A solitary second-half header from skipper Richard Keogh proved to be the difference at Pride Park Stadium against a plucky Grimsby outfit last season. Fresh from their promotion back to the EFL from the National League, the Mariners pushed the Rams all the way. However, Keogh had the deciding say with a fine diving header from Craig Bryson’s inviting right-wing delivery. That said, Grimsby made Derby sweat and only a goal-line clearance from Jacob Butterfield, and a fine stop from Scott Carson, avoided extra-time.

2015/16 - Portsmouth 2-1 Derby County

Derby bowed out of the competition at the First Round hurdle two years ago against League 2 Portsmouth at Fratton Park. Adam McGurk headed the hosts ahead just after half-time, but defender Jason Shackell scored a header of his own to level matters on 73 minutes. However, almost immediately, Conor Chaplin rounded off a fine move with a first-time strike for Pompey.

2014/15 - Carlisle United 0-2 Derby County

Two days after getting the 2014/15 campaign off and running, Derby made the long journey north to face League 2 Carlisle United at Brunton Park. Midfielder Jeff Hendrick headed the opener from close-range on 61 minutes, just moments after Rams ‘keeper Lee Grant had tipped a free kick from David Symington on to the crossbar. Chris Martin then rounded off the scoring in added time with a deft finish from Johnny Russell’s right-wing cross.

2013/14 - Oldham Athletic 0-1 Derby County

Michael Jacobs bagged the only goal of the game at Boundary Park as Derby ended a run of four successive exits at the First Round stage. Jacobs rounded off a fine Rams move after just 20 minutes, scoring from six yards after John Eustace had sent Conor Sammon away down the left. Both sides had chances in an open encounter, with Derby indebted to Craig Forsyth for a fine goal-line clearance to deny Cristian Montano in the second period.

2012/13 - Derby County 5-5 Scunthorpe United (6-7 On Penalties)

Perhaps one of the most epic cup encounters of recent years, certainly in terms of goals and drama, Derby bowed out of the cup on penalties against Scunthorpe. Headers from Richard Keogh, on his debut after signing from Coventry City in the summer, and Jake Buxton put the Rams two up before Theo Robinson made it 3-0 by half-time. Andy Barcham pulled one back for the Ion but Buxton headed in again before Mike Grella and Bobby Grant made it 4-3 inbetween Robinson having a penalty saved. Nathan Tyson made it 5-3 but Connor Jennings and Grant levelled in stoppage time to make it 5-5. Amazingly, no goals followed in the 30 minutes of extra-time and Derby eventually lost on penalties, with Tom Naylor hitting the bar to send the visitors through.
