Derby County captain Richard Keogh has been included in the provisional Republic of Ireland squad for their upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying play-off matches against Denmark.

Martin O’Neill’s side travel to Copenhagen for the first leg on Saturday 11th November, before returning for the second leg at the Aviva Stadium three days later.

Ireland secured their place in the play-off round with a stunning 1-0 win against Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium last month, with Serbia topping their qualifying group to earn the automatic path to Russia next summer.

Keogh made two appearances during the group stage of qualifying, starting and completing 90 minutes away at Serbia and then at home to Wales.

He’ll be looking to earn his 19th international cap as Ireland bid to qualify for their first World Cup since the 2002 tournament in Japan and South Korea.
