Under-23s goalkeeper Matt Yates continues to impress on loan at National League South as he helped his side to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.


The youngster played the full 90 minutes as his side beat Plymouth Parkway 3-1 to progress through to the next stage of the competition.

Sticking with goalkeepers and Jonathan Mitchell played the full game but was unable to prevent his Oxford United side from falling to a 1-2 defeat against Walsall.

Elsewhere in League One, Luke Thomas featured for the seventh time this season but his Coventry City side were beaten 3-1 away at Bristol Rovers.

In the Championship, Chris Martin was a 63rd minute substitute for Hull City against Reading, whilst in League Two, Timi Elsnik came on after 76 minutes but saw his Mansfield Town side draw 1-1 with Cambridge United. Kellen Gordon was an unused substitute for Lincoln City this weekend.

North of the border, Max Lowe came on in the dying seconds against Motherwell and helped preserve a 1-0 victory for them against Motherwell.

In Spain, Alex Babos was an unused substitute for Real Union whilst Nick Blackman played the last 15 minutes of Sporting Gijon’s 1-0 defeat against Osasuna.
