Luke Thomas netted his third goal of the season for Coventry City on Saturday against Walsall.


The 19-year-old chested the ball in the penalty area before firing into the bottom corner to put the Sky Blues into a first half lead, however, they were unable to hold on to their lead as they suffered a 2-1 loss.

He played the full 90 minutes this weekend and has now made 20 appearances in all competitions for Coventry.

In League Two, Timi Elsnik starred in Mansfield Town’s 2-0 victory against their local rivals Notts County. The midfielder played 81 minutes before being replaced.

Elsewhere, Chris Martin was a 70th minute substitute for Hull City this weekend as his side drew 2-2 with Millwall whilst Nick Blackman came on in the 64th minute in Sporting Gijon’s 0-0 draw against Elche.

In Scotland, Max Lowe played the full 90 minutes as Aberdeen were beaten 2-0 at home by St Johnstone, while Ethan Wassall and Matt Yates were not in action for Hereford FC as their game against Guiseley was called off.

Zaid Al Hussaini came off the bench for Gloucester City in their goalless draw with Hampton & Richmond Borough Jonathan Mitchell (Oxford United), Kellen Gordon (Lincoln City) and Alex Babos (Real Union) did not feature for their loan clubs at the weekend.
