TEAM NEWS…

Kamil Jozwiak is in line for a return to the Derby County squad on Wednesday night.

The Polish international winger sat out Derby’s 1-1 draw at AFC Bournemouth on Saturday with an ankle injury but is now back in training.

Jozwiak was injured in the closing stages of last Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at home to Cardiff City and there were initial fears the summer signing could be out of action for a lengthy period.

Fellow Polish international Krystian Bielik was on the bench for Derby at Bournemouth after ten months out of action with a long-term knee injury.

The midfielder played for the Rams’ Under-23s on Monday night against West Ham United in Premier League 2 – Division 1 to up his match sharpness and is not expected to be involved in the matchday squad on Wednesday.

Max Bird missed Saturday’s game at Bournemouth as he was unwell but is now back in training and could be in the squad.

Jordon Ibe is still not match fit as he continues to build up his fitness after joining as a free agent in September and it is hoped he will feature for Derby’s Under-23s against Tottenham Hotspur on Friday in Premier League 2 – Division 1.

PRE-MATCH THOUGHTS…

Speaking to RamsTV ahead of Wednesday's game, Derby manager Phillip Cocu said: “These are very important games for us before the international break.

“We realise that our home form hasn’t been great, and we can’t use the excuse that the home fans aren’t here.

“That is a big part, of course, as the fans help us in creating the atmosphere, but when we are playing at Pride Park we have to get the results we want.

“We produced some consistent performances in the last couple of games, but now when we play two home games we need to step up and get the results we need to make sure we can climb up the table.”

More pre-match comments from Cocu and goalkeeper David Marshall can be found across dcfc.co.uk and also on RamsTV.

GOAL LINE TECHNOLOGY…

Goal line technology is, once again, being used at all Sky Bet Championship matches during the 2020/21 season.

The system was introduced for the start of the 2017/18 campaign and is now entering its fourth full season in the division.

WHO’S THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE…

Gavin Ward will take charge of Wednesday night's game at Pride Park Stadium.

Ward has taken charge of six matches in the 2020/21 campaign to date, producing a total of 15 yellow cards and one red card.

His last Derby fixture was the 1-1 draw at home to West Bromwich Albion at the start of the 2019/20 campaign, with Martyn Waghorn on target for the Rams from the penalty spot.

Ward will be assisted by Steven Meredith and Philip Dermott on the lines, whilst Matthew Donohue has been appointed as the

fourth official.

STAY AT HOME…

Derby County is continuing to urge supporters to stay away from stadiums when matches are played, with the UK Government advice remaining the same relating to playing behind-closed-doors at this time in the 2020/21 season.

Matches are still being played behind-closed-doors with the safety of supporters, club personnel and the frontline services remaining the principle priority at this time.

Consequently, supporters will not be permitted entry to any area of the stadium and extra security measures around the immediate area including car parks will be in place when staging matches.

Supporters are also urged to maintain social distancing guidelines and avoid congregating outside stadiums or gathering to watch matches, as part of a new campaign message: ‘When we play, please stay away’ ahead of all EFL matches.

The club and the Derbyshire Constabulary are united in one message to fans - support the Rams and 'Watch From Home'.
