Manager Wayne Rooney has made five changes to the side which beat Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday night for this evening’s Sky Bet Championship clash against Watford (7:45pm kick-off).

One of those changes has been enforced as Matt Clarke, who suffered a knock against the Chairboys, misses out and is replaced by George Edmundson, who joined the club from Rangers on Deadline Day earlier in the month.

Edmundson impressed coming on as a second half substitute at Adams Park and will partner Andre Wisdom at the back after he netted his first professional league goal in the dying minutes of Tuesday’s game.

Elsewhere, Nathan Byrne and Lee Buchanan come back in at right back and left back respectively as both Teden Mengi, who made his debut against Wycombe, and Craig Forsyth move back to the substitutes bench.

There is also a first start for winger Patrick Roberts, who also joined Derby on Deadline Day from Manchester City. The winger enjoyed a brief cameo in midweek, winning the free kick which Wisdom eventually scored from.

Max Bird is the final change for Derby as Lee Gregory and Kamil Jozwiak both move to the bench.
