Max Lowe got himself on the scoresheet and put in a man-of-the-match performance as he helped Aberdeen to a 4-1 home victory over St Mirren on Saturday.


Lowe, who has earned good plaudits during his loan move in Scotland, netted in the 41st minute to make it 3-0 to the Dons as they romped home with a convincing victory.

Striker Chris Martin was on the losing side this weekend as his Hull City side lost 1-0 against table-toppers Sheffield United. The striker played 71 minutes for the Tigers.

In League One, goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell made a string of fine saves as he thwarted the onslaught from Southend United to secure a point and earned himself a clean sheet in the process.

Elsewhere in the division, Coventry City beat Charlton Athletic courtesy of two late goals. Luke Thomas played 88 minutes for the Sky Blues before he was replaced, but it was a good afternoon for the midfielder.

Dropping down into League Two, Timi Elsnik provided an assist for Mansfield’s second goal of the afternoon but they could only draw 2-2 with Bury at Gigg Lane.

Young goalkeeper Matt Yates played 90 minutes for National League South side Gloucester City this weekend as they drew 3-3 against Dorkings Wanderers.

Moving abroad, Alex Babos came off the bench on 79 minutes as his Real Union side beat Real Sociedad B whilst Nick Blackman’s Sporting Gijon side did not play.
