Kellan Gordon was the hero for his Lincoln City side as he netted the winner to secure a valuable three points which kept them top of the Sky Bet League Two table.

Seconds following his introduction on 71 minutes, he notched the winner for the Imps as he latched on to a Shay McCartan cross and he fired past the goalkeeper to ensure the win.

That was the 20-year-old’s first goal for the club on only his second league appearance.

Following the game, Gordon said: “It was an unbelievable feeling. It felt like it took ages to come across but I am buzzing to score.

“I’m loving it [at Lincoln]. All the lads have been brilliant and I’m loving every minute of it. I’m learning all the time.”

Staying in League Two and Timi Elsnik put in an impressive display but could not help his Mansfield Town side to victory at the weekend.

Elsnik was denied on a number of occasions but his side had to settle for a point as they drew 2-2 with Cheltenham Town.

Coventry City’s winning run came to an end at the weekend as they could only register a point against Accrington Stanley in League One.

Luke Thomas played the full game in the 1-1 draw where his side equalised late on.

In the Championship, Chris Martin came on as a 73rd minute substitute as his Hull City side beat promotion-chasing West Bromwich Albion to help steer their relegation fears.

Dropping into the National League North, both goalkeeper Matt Yates and Ethan Wassell played the full 90 minutes in Hereford’s 1-1 draw against Altrincham FC.

Moving north of the border and it was a good afternoon for full back Max Lowe on Sunday as his Aberdeen side came from behind to beat Kilmarnock away from home.

After falling behind in the first half, the Dons staged a second half comeback to pick up the three points to move them up to seventh in the table. Lowe played the full 90 minutes.

Alex Babos (Real Union), Nick Blackman (Sporting Gijon) and Jonathan Mitchell (Oxford United) did not feature for their respective loan sides this weekend.
