Chris Martin Nets First Hull City Goal On New Year's Day

Chris Martin netted his first goal, and also assisted another, for Hull City in their convincing 6-0 home victory against Bolton Wanderers on New Year’s Day.

The striker scored the Tigers’ fourth goal of the afternoon and assisted the fifth for Jarrod Bowen before being substituted in the 78th minute. The win moved Hull up to 13th place in the Sky Bet Championship table.

Elsewhere, Luke Thomas was an instrumental figure in Coventry City’s 2-0 win away at Wycombe Wanderers yesterday. The attacking midfielder played the full game as they rose up to eighth in the Sky Bet League One table.

In League Two, Timi Elsnik came on as a 62nd minute substitute in Mansfield Town’s 1-0 win against Grimsby Town to extend their unbeaten run to 17 games and keep them in the automatic promotion spots.

Lincoln City top the table in League Two and Kellan Gordon played the final 25 minutes of their 1-1 draw against Port Vale on New Year’s Day.

Under-23 winger Aaron Eyoma, who is currently with National League South side Woking, came on as a second-half substitute in their 3-0 win against Hampton & Richmond Borough whilst goalkeeper Matt Yates played the full game in Hereford’s 2-1 defeat against Kidderminster Harriers.
