It was a fine afternoon for Max Lowe, on loan at Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen, on Saturday.

The defender continued his development on one of the biggest stages as he played the full 90 minutes in the Dons 0-0 draw against league leaders Celtic.

Lowe helped his side pick up a valuable point to keep them in third position at Celtic Park as he put in a good display to frustrate their hosts.

Kyle McAllister’s St Mirren could move off the bottom of the table tonight as they face Kilmarnock live on Sky Sports.

The midfielder has helped his side pick up five points from their last three games to put them in a good position and a victory tonight will see them leapfrog Dundee at the bottom.

Elsewhere, it was a good afternoon for Jacob Butterfield as he scored his first goal for his hometown club Bradford City in a 3-1 win.

He fired home the opener on 70 minutes, however, the Bantams still sit in the Sky Bet League One relegation places.

Staying in League One, Luke Thomas was on the wrong end of a 1-2 scoreline on Friday night as Burton Albion took all three points against Coventry.

The midfielder made his 34th appearance of the season and played the full 90 minutes but was unable to help his side to the win.

Both Jonathan Mitchell (Shrewsbury Town) and George Thorne (Luton Town) did not feature for their loan clubs this weekend.

In the Championship, both of our players in action were on the losing side. Alex Pearce played the full 90 minutes in Millwall’s 2-1 defeat against Bolton Wanderers, whilst Chris Martin was substituted on 54 minutes in Hull’s 3-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest.

Meanwhile, in Sky Bet League Two, Timi Elsnik came on in the latter stages of Northampton Town’s 2-1 victory over Exeter. He came on in the 91st minute to see the game out as the Cobblers recorded three points and moved up to 14th position.

It was a tough afternoon for Under-23s midfielder Aaron Eyoma as he made his debut for National League strugglers Braintree Town. They were defeated 0-4 against Harrogate Town. Eyoma played the second half with his side already trailing 0-3.

Young goalkeeper Matt Yates starred for Hereford as he helped them come from two goals behind to beat Darlington 4-2.

Nick Blackman did not feature for Sporting Gijon this weekend.
