Tom Lawrence excelled for his national side as he opened the scoring and played the full 90 minutes in Wales’ 4-1 Nations League victory over the Republic of Ireland last night.

The forward managed to get in behind the defence, meeting a Joe Allen through ball, to fire past Darren Randolph to give Wales the lead on six minutes.

Lawrence continued to threaten and further goals from Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Connor Roberts put Wales in a commanding position.

Shaun Williams did pull a goal back for Martin O’Neill’s side but Ryan Giggs’ side ran out comfortable winners. Central defender Richard Keogh was an unused substitute for the Republic of Ireland last night whilst Joe Ledley and Harry Wilson did not feature for Wales.

Mason Mount was also an unused substitute for England under-21s in their 0-0 draw with the Netherlands whilst Fikayo Tomori was not involved.
