Midfielder Luke Thomas excelled for Coventry City this weekend as he provided an assist in a 1-2 away victory at Southend United.


The 19-year-old crossed for Jordy Hiwula to open the scoring as he played the full game in the victory which pushed them into the top half and four points off the play-off positions.

Staying in League One and goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell was an unused substitute for Oxford United in their 0-0 draw against Bristol Rovers.

In the Championship, Chris Martin went close to netting his first goal for Hull City but was thwarted on the line as he played 87 minutes in their 1-1 draw against Preston North End. The result lifted Hull off the foot of the table.

Timi Elsnik started for League Two side Mansfield Town and played 79 minutes of their 0-0 draw with Swindon Town, whilst Kellen Gordon was an unused substitute for Lincoln City in their 1-1 draw against Cambridge United.

North of the border, Max Lowe played the full game for Aberdeen but was unable to prevent his side from falling to a 2-1 defeat away at Hearts.

Alex Babos was a substitute for Real Union this weekend whilst Nick Blackman was not involved for Sporting Gijon.

Hereford were without a game this weekend, meaning Ethan Wassall and Matt Yates did not play.
